Quick Overview

Nail '67-68 is a historical novel that closely follows the actual events in the combat tours in SEA of the two authors, Pat Sweeney and  Jerry Dwyer. During 1967-68 the  North Vietnamese supplied their war effort in South Vietnam by using the  Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos. The USAF Forward Air Controllers (FACs) of the 23d Tass, the  Nails, flew the low and slow Cessna O-2A aircraft, and directed the airstrikes against these trucks on the trail, and their defending anti-aircraft guns. Sometimes they were successful, sometime they were not, sometimes they died, sometimes they were lost, and all were affected by their experiances. This is their story.

This is the second volume of a four or five volume series on the  23d TASS at NKP. The first in the series that goes from Jan 66 though to Spring 67 where Nail '67-68  starts, is "under construction". Authors Pat Sweeney and  Ned Helm are curently contacting  all "Early Nails and Gombeys" to get their inputs.
